Colony is made by Good AI Labs. This page covers what we collect, why we collect it, and how to have it deleted. Questions go to research@goodailabs.com.

When you sign in

You sign in with your Google or GitHub account. Google's Firebase Authentication handles the sign-in for us. From Google we get your name, your email address and the address of your profile photo. From GitHub we get your name, your GitHub username, your profile photo and your primary email address. We use these to keep your place in the queue, to contact you when your computer is ready, and to sign you in later.

We don't ask for access to your contacts, your files, your posts or messages, or anything else in those accounts. Colony never posts anything as you.

Your computer

The files, conversations and app data on your Colony computer are stored with that computer so it can do its work. We don't sell them and we don't use them for advertising.

Subscriptions and invitations

Stripe processes subscription payments and stores payment details. We send Stripe your billing email and a Colony account reference, and keep subscription status, billing references and the access period so we can provide your plan. Colony does not receive your full card number. We also record invitation and referral redemptions to apply offers and prevent a code being used beyond its terms.

Analytics

This site uses PostHog to see where visitors come from and where they leave. Most visitors are tracked with a cookie, and visits can be recorded, but recordings never keep what is typed into a field. In Europe and other places where the law asks for consent first, and in browsers that send Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, visits are only counted, without cookies, unless you allow more. If you're tracked in full, the text you type into the box on the front page is sent too, cut to 280 characters, so we can learn what people want Colony to do.

Running the service

Our servers keep ordinary request logs, such as times, network addresses and errors. We use them to keep Colony running and secure.

Who else sees it

We don't sell personal information. A few companies run parts of Colony for us, such as hosting this site and handling sign-in. They only use the data to do that work. We share information with anyone else only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and your computer until you delete your account or ask us to.

Deleting your data

Email research@goodailabs.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete your data. We'll delete your account, your computer and its files within 30 days and email you when it's done.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time.

Children

Colony isn't for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly keep data about children.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes too. If a change matters, we'll email account holders before it takes effect.
