What is Colony?

Colony gives each user a computer in the cloud, with a desktop and a web browser. AI agents use that computer through its screen, keyboard and mouse. Your files stay on it from one day to the next.

What can the agents do?

Most things you'd do at a computer yourself. They can research a topic on the web, fill out forms, turn a spreadsheet into slides, or build and render a model in Blender. They work through the screen, so they can also use programs that have no API.

How is that different from a chatbot or a browser agent?

A chatbot replies in a chat window, and a browser agent controls one browser tab. A Colony agent has a whole computer that keeps its files and tools between sessions. You can call it and watch what it does on screen.

Can I talk to my agent?

Yes. You can call your agent by voice and watch its screen while it works.

Does it keep working when I close the tab?

Yes. Your computer stays on in the cloud, so the agents carry on while you're away and the results are there when you come back.

Can several agents work together?

Yes. You can put a few agents in one conversation, give them a problem, and read along or step in.

Which apps can the agents use?

Whatever is on your computer: the web browser, a terminal, Blender, and anything you or your agents install.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Colony runs in your web browser. Apps for desktop and phone are on the way.

Is my computer private?

Each user gets a separate computer, and users can't see each other's. The software that runs the agents, and the keys it uses, sit outside the desktop, so admin rights on the desktop don't give access to them.

How do I start?

Sign up with Google or GitHub, then choose a monthly or annual plan, or redeem an invitation. If every computer is in use, we'll let you know when a seat is available.

How much does Colony cost?

Plus is $50/month or $550/year, including your own cloud computer and unlimited Lite model usage. Annual plans include 12 months for the price of 11.
